Mariteam services offers online courses in collaboration with Rood Boven Groen to provide a service tailored to the needs of our clients applying for seaman book.
Information
Validity : 5 years under STCW regulations.
Exam : Once you have completed the online training modules you will be able to take the exam. It consists of 20 multiple choice questions. The pass grade is 70%. Students who do not pass can review the course content and retake the assessment up to a maximum of 2 times.
Accepted by : The STCW certificate is accepted by MCA-UK, EU-countries, Panama, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Malta, Liberia, Singapore, Cyprus, Isle of Man, Antigua & Barbuda, Marshall Islands.
System requirements : PC with stable internet connexion. A phone with camera for ID check.
ID Check: After finishing the assessment you are required to do an electronic ID check using your mobile phone. The ID check is carried out by a third party in the EU and is General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliant. Only after ID approval we will issue your certificate within 1-3 working days.

Ship Security Awareness
SSA is an official STCW certificate required for the seaman book application. It is mandatory for ALL seafarers who are not directly assigned with security duties on board ISPS ships.
The course consists of the following parts up to 3hrs duration:
- Introduction
- Basic security
- Maritime security policy
- Security responsibilities
- Threat identification
- Ship security actions
- Emergency preparedness
Seafarers with Designated Security Duties
SDSD is an official STCW certificate required for the seaman book application. It is mandatory for ALL seafarers on board of an ISPS ship who are assigned with security duties related to the Ship Security Plan.
The course consists of the following parts up to 6hrs duration:
- Maintain the conditions set out in a ship security plan
- Recognition of security risks and threats
- Undertake regular security inspection of the ship
- Proper usage of security equipment and systems
