A medical certificate.
It needs to fulfill the requirements of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) and be issued from a country of IMO White List. It must comply with the regulations STCW or OGUK.
The aim of the convention is to address the employment standards of seafarers in the areas of fair wages, contractual terms, working and living conditions, as well as their health and safety on board ships.

Asia specifics
A Special Medical format is required for certificates issued from: Philippines, India, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Myanmar, South Korea. Doctors must be recognized by PMA and issue their certificates through the medical software verification platform : TECSISA or SYNTEGRA.
